Early (late 19th century) SPIERS of AYR 14 1/2" long dovetailed steel panel plane in used but still pretty decent condition. Good clean metal with no serious pitting. Gunmetal lever cap with small Spiers stamp and nicely grained rosewood infill. Original Stewart Spiers back iron with near full length old replacement blade by Robert Sorby of Sheffield. The front bun has an old added brass dick to the top and the rear handle spur is bit sort and slightly chipped. Great plane for a craftsman to ...
