There is an old repair to the base of the handle doesn't effect use at all. Feels like a nice, well balanced saw to me. 2" blade depth. FINE 19th century example of a Sargent USA No. 422 (number 7 size) jointing plane in very good original condition. Most of the original black japanning remains. Original mahogany handles with low front knob and good length original blade. Good clean metal with no issues at all. There is a small brass screw in the spur of the handle where it has been glued a long time ago. Apart from this small repair this is as good a Sargent 422 as I have seen for some time.

RARE early 10 1/4" long probably Scottish double iron cove and scotia moulder. It looks to me even at 10 1/4" long that both ends have been slightly shortened / shaved. Great profile plane, I always like this mould. Both irons are good length. One wedge has a hairline crack. Fabulous colour and patination. RARE FIND !!!!
