19th century STANLEY USA No. 4 low knob smoothing plane. Old style frog with patented lateral adjuster. Rosewood fittings with low front knob and good rear handle. The blade is an almost full length old replacement English Stanley blade. The rear handle bar has had minor repair as it has been threaded right through the body otherwise this is in pretty good condition for its age. Dates from around 1880 - 1890.
